About us

Christ Church is a part of the world-wide Anglican Communion, a federation of national churches, with some seventy million members. We are a member of the Anglican Diocese of Athabasca, with its headquarters in Peace River, Alberta. Christ Church has been ministering the Christian gospel in Grande Prairie since 1914, first from our original site in the centre of town and now from our “new church,” opened in 1982. Christ Church offers a blend of Christian experiences, traditions, teachings and ministries that are unique in Grande Prairie. We are committed to our strong traditions of Anglican worship, seasoned with a healthy combination of traditional and contemporary music. We place a strong emphasis on biblical teaching and preaching, while seeking to make the gospel practical, applicable and livable in our modern lives.
