Christ Church is a part of the world-wide Anglican Communion, a federation of national churches with some seventy million members. We are a member of the Anglican Diocese of Athabasca, with its headquarters in Peace River, Alberta. Christ Church has been ministering the Christian gospel in Grande Prairie since 1914, first from our original site in the centre of town and now from our “new church”, opened in 1982. Christ Church offers a blend of Christian experience, tradition, teaching and ministry that is unique in Grande Prairie. We are committed to our strong tradition of Anglican worship, seasoned with a healthy combination of traditional and contemporary music. We place a strong emphasis on biblical teaching and preaching, while seeking to make the gospel practical, applicable and livable in our modern context.

Our Mission

We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to our church. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God’s love and concern for our fellow man at every opportunity. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen and love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

The Anglican Church of Canada requires Marriage Preparation for all couples being married in the church.  And so Marriage Preparation is a necessary and beautiful prelude to any wedding held in Christ Church.

Marriage preperation is available through our Rev. Deacon Karen Kovacs. She can be reached at our office at 780-532-2093 or via email
