Maundy Thursday Service with Tenebrae

A joint worship service with Trinity Lutheran, held at Christ Church. On the Thursday before Good Friday and Easter, we observe Maundy Thursday. This day commemorates Jesus’s last supper with his disciples. During that meal in the upper room, Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and gave them a new commandment: “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another” (John 13:34). The word “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum, meaning “command.” This service will include the Tenebrae, a quiet prelude to Easter Day which helps us identify with the darkness and loss felt by Jesus’ followers as they experienced his death.  All are welcome.
